Black Diamond Alpine Light Broek Heren Middernachtblauw maat L

On a crisp alpine morning, a climber moves efficiently up a granite face, the Black Diamond Alpine Light Pants flexing with every high step and stemming maneuver. These men's hiking and climbing pants are built for vertical pursuits where mobility and weather protection matter most. The slim fit and 4-way stretch woven fabric—88% nylon, 12% elastane—allow unrestricted movement, while the DWR finish sheds light precipitation and the UPF 50+ rating shields against intense sun. An integrated adjustable belt ensures a secure fit under a harness, and articulated knees plus a gusseted inseam eliminate binding on technical terrain.

Why choose it

The Alpine Light Pants strike a rare balance between durability and featherweight comfort. The bluesign approved fabric meets strict sustainability criteria without compromising performance. The slim cut reduces snag points, while the stretch properties let you high-step, stem, and scramble without restriction. Zippered pockets keep essentials secure, and the drawcord hem lets you cinch the cuffs over approach shoes or boots. Whether you're leading a multi-pitch route or grinding out a long approach, these pants move with you and dry quickly after stream crossings or sweat.

Ideal use cases

• Alpine climbing and mountaineering
• Day hiking and fastpacking
• Multi-day backpacking trips
• Spring, summer, and fall trekking
• Travel and casual outdoor wear

Good to know

The DWR treatment is PFC-free and can be refreshed with heat after washing. For best results, machine wash cold and hang dry. The integrated belt is low-profile and won't interfere with a climbing harness. The thigh pocket is positioned for easy access while wearing a pack. The pants are designed to fit over light base layers but can accommodate a thin thermal layer in cooler conditions. With a UPF 50+ rating, they provide excellent sun protection for high-altitude environments.
