Dome-camera Ajax DomeCam Mini 5MP 4mm — 5 MP, 4-mm-objectief, compact domeontwerp

Ajax DomeCam Mini 5MP 4mm is a compact dome security camera offering 5-megapixel resolution and a fixed 4 mm lens. Designed for indoor and sheltered outdoor installations, the camera delivers detailed video suitable for monitoring entrances, reception areas, retail displays and small offices. Its compact dome design fits confined spaces and ceiling- or wall-mounted positions while providing clear images for identification and routine surveillance.

Advantages

The camera combines a 5 MP sensor with a 4 mm fixed lens to produce sharp, high-resolution footage with a balanced field of view for general surveillance. The compact dome housing enables discreet installation in tight spaces and reduces visual intrusion. The device supports common mounting orientations, easing placement on ceilings and walls. Image clarity and resolution help with identifying faces and capturing license plates or product details at moderate distances.

Suitable for

• Indoor monitoring of corridors, lobbies and offices
• Retail environments for shelf and cashier area surveillance
• Entryways and reception zones for identification and access control
• Sheltered outdoor areas such as covered entrances and porches

Key specifications

• Image sensor resolution: 5 megapixels
• Lens focal length: 4 mm (fixed)
• Form factor: compact dome housing suitable for ceiling or wall mounting
• Intended use: indoor and sheltered outdoor environments
• Primary function: continuous video surveillance and identification

How to use

Choose a mounting location that provides an unobstructed view of the area to be monitored, keeping the camera within effective range for identification at the chosen resolution and lens focal length. Install the camera on a stable surface using appropriate fasteners, route power and data cables according to installation standards, and adjust the orientation to frame the scene. Configure recording settings, motion detection zones and network parameters in the connected video management system or recorder. Verify image focus and adjust camera angle as needed to ensure faces or objects of interest are captured clearly.

Recommendations

For optimal results, mount the camera at a height and distance that match the 4 mm lens field of view: avoid placing the camera too close to targets where details may be outside the focal depth. Use sheltered mounting for outdoor locations to protect against direct weather exposure, and combine with appropriate lighting to maintain image clarity in low-light conditions.
