Hailo Öko duo Plus M 18 L rechthoekige afvalemmer van staal, 2 vakken, zilver

The Hailo Öko duo Plus M is a compact rectangular 18 L kitchen waste bin with a steel housing and two separate 9 L compartments for organized two-stream waste separation. Its sturdy construction and soft-close lid make it suitable for regular kitchen use and for placement under counters or inside cupboards where space is limited.

Advantages

The bin provides two equal compartments for simultaneous separation of recyclable and non-recyclable waste in a single, space-saving unit. Made with a steel exterior and plastic components, it offers durability for daily kitchen use. The lid features a soft-close mechanism that prevents slamming and reduces noise.

Suitable for

• Small to medium households that need a compact dual-bin solution
• Kitchens with limited space, including under-counter or cupboard placement
• Users who separate recyclables and general waste at the point of disposal

When it may not be suitable

This 18 L model may be too small for large households or situations where a high-volume waste bin is required. It is designed for two-stream separation with equal 9 L compartments, so it may not suit users needing different compartment sizes or more than two fractions.

Key specifications

• Total capacity: 18 L (2 × 9 L compartments)
• Shape: Rectangular
• Housing material: Steel with plastic components
• Finish/color: Silver / light grey, matte
• Closing mechanism: Soft-close lid
• Installation: Free-standing, suitable for under-counter or cupboard placement

How to use

Place the bin on a flat surface or inside a cupboard below the countertop. Use the two separate compartments to sort waste at the source: designate one side for recyclables and the other for general waste or organic matter according to your local collection rules. Replace liners or empty each compartment as needed; wipe the steel housing and plastic parts with a damp cloth for routine cleaning.

What to consider before purchase

• Check internal cupboard or under-counter dimensions to ensure the rectangular bin fits
• Confirm that two equal 9 L compartments meet your household's waste volume and separation needs
• Consider whether a larger capacity or different compartment sizes are required

Recommendations

For efficient everyday use, assign clear labels to each compartment and empty or change liners regularly. Clean the interior and lid periodically to prevent odors and ensure the soft-close mechanism remains free of debris.
