The Faber-Castell 182774 manual pencil sharpener is a compact, single-blade sharpener made from durable plastic. Available in black, blue and pink, it provides precise sharpening for standard wooden pencils used in school, office or home. Its simple mechanism and lightweight design make it easy to carry in a pencil case or desk drawer, while the enclosed shavings compartment reduces mess during use.

Advantages

This manual sharpener delivers consistent, controllable sharpening with minimal effort thanks to a hardened steel blade and a stable casing. The enclosed container captures pencil shavings and can be emptied quickly, keeping work surfaces clean. The compact dimensions and low weight make it portable and suitable for everyday carry. Color options allow easy identification among supplies.

Suitable for

• Sharpening standard graphite and colored wooden pencils
• Use in classrooms, offices, studios, and at home
• Portable pencil kits and on-the-go writing or drawing

Key specifications

• Construction: durable plastic housing
• Blade: hardened steel for precise edge retention
• Finish: available in black, blue and pink
• Sharpening type: manual single-blade mechanism for standard pencil diameters
• Design: compact, lightweight with integrated shavings container

How to use

Insert a standard wooden pencil into the sharpening hole and rotate the pencil while holding the sharpener steady, or hold the pencil and rotate the sharpener for greater control. Stop periodically to check the point and avoid over-sharpening. When the shavings compartment is full, open the container and dispose of the shavings in a waste bin, then reassemble before further use.

Recommendations

For consistent results, avoid using the sharpener on very soft or mechanical pencils. Replace the blade when sharpening becomes uneven or requires excessive force, and store the sharpener in a dry place to maintain blade condition.
