Klimhelm Edelrid Zodiac wit, hybride schaalconstructie

The Edelrid Zodiac White is a climbing helmet with hybrid shell construction combining a hardshell rim and an in-mold crown. Designed to protect the head during climbing, mountaineering and via ferrata, it offers impact protection and durable edge resistance while maintaining a balance of strength, weight and durability for outdoor vertical activities. The helmet features a lightweight yet robust structure that uses an EPS inner shell and an ABS outer shell for enhanced stability and side-impact protection. Large ventilation openings promote continuous air exchange to help keep the wearer cool during exertion, and removable washable padding adds convenience for extended use.

Advantages

The hybrid construction—EPS inner layer with an ABS hardshell rim—combines shock absorption with reinforced edges for improved durability. Deep-drawn shells extend protection around the sides of the head for better coverage against lateral impacts. Large vents ensure good airflow, reducing heat build-up during long climbs or via ferrata routes. The Wing Fit adjustment system allows quick and precise sizing, and the updated chin-strap buckle is easy to operate. Padding is removable and washable, simplifying maintenance after heavy use.

How to use

Place the Edelrid Zodiac White on the head so the helmet rim sits level above the eyebrows and covers the temples. Use the Wing Fit system to tighten or loosen the fit until the helmet is stable but comfortable; adjust the chin strap so it sits snugly under the chin without restricting movement or breathing. Ensure ventilation openings are unobstructed. Inspect the helmet before each use for cracks, deep dents or damaged straps, and replace the helmet if it has sustained a significant impact. Follow manufacturer care instructions for cleaning the removable padding and straps.

Recommendations

Use the helmet for activities where falling objects or impacts may occur; do not attempt to repair a helmet that has been subjected to a strong impact—replace it. Store the helmet away from direct sunlight and chemical solvents, and periodically check adjustment mechanisms and webbing for wear. Clean the removable padding according to care instructions to maintain hygiene and comfort.
