Klimtouw Edelrid Siskin Eco 8,6 mm, 60 m, neongroen

The Edelrid Siskin Eco climbing rope in neon green is a single-rope designed for climbers who need a thin, lightweight line for sport climbing, alpine approaches and technical rope-access work. With an 8.6 mm diameter and 60 m length, this rope balances compact handling and reduced pack weight while retaining a core-and-sheath construction suited to dynamic climbing use. The rope's thinner profile makes it easier to clip and feed through belay devices, and the neon green colour improves visibility on rock and snow.

Advantages

The 8.6 mm diameter delivers a low weight-to-length ratio and compact storage, making the rope convenient for multi-pitch routes and long approaches. Core-and-sheath construction provides the dynamic properties required for climbing falls while maintaining sufficient handling characteristics. Neon green sheath increases on-route visibility and helps with rope management. The rope is suitable where reduced diameter is needed without switching to a static line.

How to use

Use this single rope with belay devices and anchors rated for dynamic climbing ropes. Inspect the rope before each use for sheath damage, core exposure or excessive wear and follow manufacturer care instructions regarding cleaning and storage. When leading, tie a secure figure-eight follow-through knot to the harness and use appropriate dynamic belaying technique. Use rope protectors on sharp edges and avoid dragging the rope over abrasive surfaces to prolong service life.

Recommendations

For on-route safety, combine the rope with compatible hardware rated for dynamic climbing and follow rope inspection intervals; retire the rope if core damage, significant sheath wear or irreparable cuts are detected. Store the rope in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and petroleum-based chemicals to maintain performance.
