Koellichaam/radiator COUGAR Gaming CGR-FZAE85 12 cm zwart

The COUGAR FORZA 85 ESSENTIAL is a single-tower air cooler designed for mid-to-high level CPUs. It combines a nickel-clad copper base with six 6 mm heat pipes and a high-performance 120 mm fan to deliver effective heat dissipation while remaining compatible with a wide range of motherboards and chassis. With a compact height under 160 mm, the cooler fits most ATX and E-ATX mid-tower cases and supports multiple CPU sockets including LGA1700, LGA2066 and a range of Intel and AMD platforms.

Advantages

The cooler’s 120 mm “Extremely Hyper” fan reaches up to 2000 RPM to provide high airflow (143.53 m³/h) and elevated static pressure (4.24 mmH2O), allowing a balance between low noise and strong cooling performance. The vacuum tunnel fin design creates an air channel that increases pressure differential across the heatsink fins for improved thermal transfer. A polished nickel-plated copper base and reflow-soldered construction with six heat pipes increases heat conduction from the CPU. The unit is supplied with mounting hardware for Intel and AMD sockets and includes a screwdriver to simplify installation.

Suitable for

• Air cooling for mid- to high-performance desktop CPUs
• Systems with height clearance up to 160 mm (most ATX/E-ATX mid-tower cases)
• Builds requiring broad socket compatibility (LGA1700, LGA2066, AM4, AM5, etc.)
• Users who may add a second 120 mm fan to improve cooling

How to use

Prepare the motherboard and CPU area by removing any existing cooler and cleaning the CPU heatspreader. Use the included Intel/AMD bracket set to mount the cooler according to the socket type; follow the step-by-step mounting order provided in the manual and secure the cooler evenly to the motherboard. Connect the fan cable to the CPU_FAN or relevant PWM header on the motherboard. If adding a second fan, attach it with the supplied clips to the opposite side of the heatsink and connect it to an available fan header or fan hub. Ensure clearance for RAM and GPU before final assembly.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the stock fan profile or a PWM curve tuned to keep CPU temperatures within manufacturer limits. Ensure the case provides adequate airflow intake and exhaust. When overclocking, monitor temperatures and consider installing the optional second 120 mm fan for increased cooling capacity.
