Trail running shoes built for technical terrain, the Hoka Mafate 5 delivers maximal cushioning and aggressive grip for long-distance comfort. The PROFLY+™ dual-density midsole pairs a soft heel with a responsive forefoot, while the Vibram® Megagrip outsole with Litebase construction ensures confident traction on wet rock and loose dirt. A woven knit mesh upper offers breathable support, and the SwallowTail™ heel geometry smooths landings on descents. With a 4 mm heel-to-toe drop and 5 mm lugs, this shoe is ready for ultra-marathons and daily trail runs.

Advantages

Maximal cushioning reduces fatigue over long distances. The Vibram® Megagrip outsole with Litebase provides exceptional grip without added weight. The gusseted tongue keeps debris out, and the protective toe cap shields against rocks and roots. The neutral platform suits runners with a natural gait, while the SwallowTail™ heel enhances stability on uneven ground.
