Reflecterende tape 3M 943-72 rood, contourmarkeringstape, 1 inch breed

3M Reflective Tape 943-72 Red, contour marking tape, 1-inch width provides durable red retroreflective performance for increased visibility of vehicles, trailers and equipment. Designed for external mounting on metal or composite surfaces, this contour marking tape improves conspicuity during daytime and nighttime conditions and supports safer transport and roadside presence. The tape's 1-inch width offers a clear, narrow marker line that suits edges, panels and trim.

Advantages

The tape combines a retroreflective layer with a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for reliable adhesion to clean, dry surfaces. Its red color delivers consistent visibility while resisting fading and weathering under typical outdoor exposure. The 1-inch width balances visibility with ease of installation on curved or limited-width areas, and the flexible construction allows conformation to moderate surface contours without cracking.

How to use

Clean the target surface thoroughly to remove dirt, oil and loose debris; ensure the area is dry and at a temperature within the manufacturer's recommended application range. Measure and cut the required length of tape, peel back the liner and apply using steady pressure to secure adhesion. For best results, press along the length of the tape with a roller or firm hand pressure to remove air pockets and ensure edge sealing. Trim excess material at corners or curves and avoid stretching the tape during application to maintain reflective performance.

Recommendations

Inspect adhesive bond periodically and replace sections that show cracking, delamination or significant loss of reflectivity. When applying to painted surfaces, verify paint compatibility and consider prime testing in an inconspicuous spot. For long-term outdoor installations, follow vehicle-cleaning guidelines that avoid abrasive chemicals or high-pressure washing directed at tape edges.
