Rookmelder Hikvision DS-PDSMK-S-WE

The Hikvision DS-PDSMK-S-WE is a wireless photoelectrical smoke detector designed for early detection of visible combustion particles. Powered by a 3V battery, the detector has a compact form factor with a diameter of 10.2 cm, a height of 35 mm and a lightweight build of 125 g, enabling flexible placement on ceilings or walls in residential and light-commercial environments. The device uses a photoelectric sensing chamber to identify smoke presence reliably and is intended for integration with wireless alarm systems where wired power is not convenient.

Advantages

The detector’s photoelectric sensing technology improves sensitivity to smoldering fires and low-visibility smoke while reducing false alarms from cooking fumes or steam. Its wireless operation and battery power simplify installation without the need for mains wiring. The compact and lightweight design supports unobtrusive installation and easy handling during setup and maintenance.

Suitable for

• Residential rooms such as bedrooms, living rooms and hallways
• Small offices and commercial spaces where wired installation is impractical
• Rental properties and temporary installations that require a portable detection solution

Key specifications

• Detection principle: photoelectric (optical) smoke sensing
• Power supply: single 3V battery
• Dimensions: diameter 10.2 cm; height 35 mm
• Weight: approximately 125 g
• Connectivity: wireless communication for integration with compatible alarm systems

How to use

Mount the smoke detector on a ceiling or high on a wall following local safety guidelines and the mounting instructions supplied with your alarm system. Insert the 3V battery and verify the indicator or test function to confirm the detector is operational. Pair the device with a compatible wireless alarm hub if required, and test communication and alarm signalling after installation. Perform periodic manual tests and replace the battery according to the maintenance schedule or when low-battery indication is shown.

Recommendations

Place detectors away from cooking appliances and windows or vents that may produce drafts. Install in each sleeping area and on every floor for comprehensive coverage. Clean the sensing chamber periodically with a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris, and follow local regulations for testing and maintenance intervals.
