SSD Western Digital 250 GB M.2 PCI Express 4.0 NVMe zwart SN770

The Western Digital Black SN770 250 GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is a compact, high-performance drive designed for gaming and general PC use. It offers fast read speeds up to 4000 MB/s and write speeds up to 2000 MB/s, enabling quicker boot times, faster game and application loading, and improved system responsiveness while fitting standard M.2 slots.

Advantages

This SSD delivers significantly reduced load times and improved in-game responsiveness thanks to PCIe Gen4 performance. Its M.2 form factor saves space inside laptops and desktops, while the 250 GB capacity provides room for your operating system, key applications, and several games or projects. The drive is energy-efficient at peak performance, helping extend battery life on portable systems compared with previous-generation models.

Suitable for

• Upgrading laptops and desktops with an M.2 NVMe slot
• Gamers who need faster load and level transition times
• Content creators and professionals requiring quicker application launches and file access
• Users looking for a compact, high-performance boot drive

When it may not be suitable

This 250 GB model may be limiting if you plan to store many large games, video projects, or extensive media libraries; larger capacities may be more appropriate for heavy storage needs. Also, to fully benefit from the maximum performance, a PCIe 4.0 compatible motherboard and CPU are recommended; on PCIe 3.0 platforms the drive will operate at lower throughput.

Key specifications

• Form factor: M.2
• Interface: PCIe Gen4 NVMe
• Capacity: 250 GB
• Sequential read speed: up to 4000 MB/s
• Sequential write speed: up to 2000 MB/s
• Weight: approx. 0.0055 kg

How to use

Install the M.2 SSD into a compatible M.2 slot on your desktop or laptop following the system manufacturer’s instructions: power down the system, remove the access panel, insert the drive at an angle into the M.2 slot, secure it with the mounting screw, then reassemble and power on. Initialize and format the drive in your operating system if needed, then migrate your OS or install applications and games to the SSD to take advantage of faster load times.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm your PC or laptop has an M.2 NVMe slot and whether it supports PCIe Gen4
• Assess total storage needs—250 GB is suitable for OS and several apps but may fill quickly
• Check physical space and thermal considerations in compact systems

Recommendations

Use the WD_BLACK Dashboard or system monitoring tools to enable performance modes and check drive health; keep important data backed up and consider a higher-capacity drive for large game libraries or media projects.
