SSD-behuizing OWC Envoy Pro Elektron zilver M.2, USB-C, 10 Gbit/s, 1 TB (geïnstalleerd)

OWC Envoy Pro Elektron Silver M.2 is a compact portable SSD enclosure that houses a single installed 1 TB M.2 drive and connects via USB-C at up to 10 Gbit/s. The enclosure accepts standard M.2 form-factor NVMe or SATA modules according to the installed SSD and provides a small, lightweight, and rugged external storage solution for fast backups, large file transfers and expanded capacity for laptops, desktops and compatible tablets.

Advantages

The enclosure combines a pocket-sized aircraft-grade aluminum body with IP67 dust and water resistance and crushproof construction for reliable field use. With USB-C connectivity supporting up to 10 Gbit/s and real-world sequential transfer performance of up to about 1011 MB/s (depending on the installed drive and host), the unit enables fast data movement and editing workflows. It is plug-and-play across Mac and PC platforms and includes a Type-C cable with a tethered Type-A adapter for broad compatibility. Built-in OS encryption support allows the drive to be secured using macOS or Windows tools.

Suitable for

• On-location photo and video capture workflows requiring fast transfer and editing
• Portable backups and system image storage for laptops and desktops
• Expanding storage for tablets and ultraportable computers with USB-C
• Transporting large game libraries, media collections and project files

Key specifications

• Form factor: M.2 SSD enclosure compatible with single M.2 module (NVMe or SATA depending on installed SSD)
• Installed capacity: 1 TB (installed M.2 module)
• Interface: USB-C with up to 10 Gbit/s transfer rate
• Real-world performance: up to approximately 1011 MB/s sequential (dependent on installed SSD and host)
• Housing: aircraft-grade aluminum
• Durability: IP67 dust and water resistance; crushproof design
• Compatibility: plug-and-play with Mac and PC; works with tablets supporting USB-C

How to use

Connect the Envoy Pro Elektron to a host device using the supplied USB-C cable or the included Type-A adapter if needed. The drive is recognized by modern macOS and Windows systems as external storage and is ready for file transfers, backups or media editing. To achieve maximum performance, connect to a host port that supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 or equivalent 10 Gbit/s capability and ensure the installed M.2 SSD supports comparable transfer speeds. Use the host operating system’s encryption or formatting tools to set up secure access or change the file system as required for cross-platform use.

Recommendations

For sustained high-speed transfers, ensure the host device provides full 10 Gbit/s USB-C bandwidth and that the installed M.2 module is NVMe-capable. Keep the enclosure clean and the cable secured with the tether when transporting. Rely on built-in OS encryption for password protection of sensitive data, and maintain regular backups to separate storage to prevent data loss.
