SSD SanDisk 1 TB extern USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 G-DRIVE ArmorLock

The SANDISK SSD SanDisk 1TB External USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 G-DRIVE ArmorLock is a portable external SSD offering 1 TB of capacity, USB-C connectivity and pro-grade performance. The drive ships locked and uses ArmorLock technology and the companion app to manage access without requiring traditional passwords. It combines hardware encryption, a durable aluminum core for thermal control, and an ultra-rugged enclosure for reliable on-the-go storage.

Advantages

The ArmorLock system replaces passwords with phone-based biometric authentication for fast, convenient access and supports Auto Unlock when pre-authorized devices connect. Hardware 256-bit AES-XTS encryption and NIST P-256 key management protect data while maintaining high transfer speeds up to 1000 MB/s read and 1000 MB/s write. The durable build offers drop protection, crush resistance and IP67 dust and water resistance, and the ArmorLock app provides drive management functions such as formatting, secure erase and location of last use.

Suitable for

• Photographers and videographers who need fast, portable storage and secure transport of large files
• Professionals handling sensitive client data requiring hardware encryption and access control
• Field workers and creatives who need a durable drive resistant to drops, dust and water
• Users who prefer biometric unlock via phone instead of remembering passwords

How to use

Install the ArmorLock app on your phone or computer, then connect the SSD via USB-C. Use the app to authorize your device using its biometric authentication and to grant access to other users when needed by sending secure authorizations via email or messaging. You can pre-authorize devices to enable Auto Unlock so the drive opens automatically when connected to an authorized device. Use the app to format the drive to a compatible file system or to perform a secure erase when the content is no longer required.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, connect the SSD to a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port and keep the drive ventilated during extended transfers. Regularly back up important files before performing secure erase operations. Use the ArmorLock app to manage authorizations and to locate the drive if you believe it was left behind.
