Waterfilter Katadyn BeFree 10L lichtgewicht draagbaar – 10 L capaciteit, draagbaar hydratatiesysteem

Katadyn BeFree 10L Lightweight Portable is a flexible hydration system designed for outdoor use. The filter integrates a compact, hollow-fibre membrane inside a soft, collapsible reservoir with a 10-litre capacity, enabling users to collect and filter water from natural sources during hiking, camping or travel. The design emphasizes low weight, rapid flow rate and simple maintenance for repeated use in the field.

Advantages

The system offers a lightweight construction and a high-capacity reservoir that collapses for compact storage. The hollow-fibre filtration element provides fast flow and effective reduction of common microbiological contaminants found in lakes, rivers and streams. The soft reservoir is flexible and easy to fill, and the overall assembly is quick to set up and disassemble for cleaning or drying. The product design supports portability without bulky components, making it practical for multi-day trips and emergency water collection.

Suitable for

• Hiking and backpacking where weight and packability matter
• Camping and overnight trips near natural water sources
• Travel to areas with uncertain water quality
• Emergency preparedness and disaster kits for water collection

Key specifications

• Reservoir capacity: 10 litres
• Filter type: hollow-fibre membrane
• Reservoir material: flexible, collapsible soft plastic
• Typical use: gravity-fed or squeeze filtration depending on setup
• Weight: lightweight construction for carry efficiency
• Flow characteristics: designed for rapid flow compared to rigid-pump alternatives

How to use

Fill the soft reservoir from a water source, attach the filtration element securely, and hang or hold the bag to allow water to pass through the hollow-fibre membrane into a clean container or directly to a drinking tube. For faster flow, gently squeeze the collapsible reservoir while maintaining a secure connection to the filter. After use, rinse the membrane as required, empty the reservoir, and allow all components to air dry before storing to reduce odour and microbial growth.

Recommendations

Pre-filtering highly turbid water through a bandana or cloth reduces clogging and extends filter life. Regularly follow the manufacturer’s cleaning guidance for backflushing or agitation to maintain flow rate. Store the reservoir dry and avoid freezing to preserve the integrity of the soft materials and the hollow-fibre membrane.
