Aanhangwagen-bekabelingsadapter AS Schwabe 60439 13-polig naar 7-polig

The AS Schwabe 60439 13-pin to 7-pin trailer wiring adapter converts a 13‑pin vehicle socket into a 7‑pin trailer socket to allow connection of trailers or caravans with different plug standards. Designed for basic electrical functions, the adapter transfers lighting signals and common power circuits so devices with a 7‑pin connector can operate when the towing vehicle has a 13‑pin outlet. The compact adapter supports straightforward compatibility without modifying vehicle or trailer wiring.

Advantages

The adapter provides a simple mechanical and electrical interface between 13‑pin and 7‑pin systems, reducing the need for rewiring or replacement plugs. It preserves the original sockets on both vehicle and trailer, enabling quick plug‑and‑play use. The housing is shaped for secure connection and the internal wiring routes the essential signals for indicators, brake lights, tail lights and 12 V power where appropriate.

How to use

Insert the adapter into the vehicle's 13‑pin socket until it is firmly seated, then plug the trailer's 7‑pin connector into the adapter. Verify that all lighting functions operate correctly before driving: check indicators, brake lights and tail lights, and confirm the 12 V circuit if the trailer uses auxiliary power. Disconnect by reversing the procedure, pulling first on the trailer plug and then removing the adapter from the vehicle socket.

Recommendations

Use the adapter only for its intended purpose: converting the standard circuits between 13‑pin and 7‑pin connectors. Regularly inspect contacts and the housing for corrosion, dirt or damage and ensure a secure, corrosion‑free connection. Do not rely on this adapter to transfer advanced 13‑pin functions such as reversing cameras, independent battery charging circuits or other manufacturer‑specific signals that are not present on standard 7‑pin sockets.
