Acer PD1520s DLP-projector 1080p (1920x1080) 1200 ANSI-lumen zilver

The Acer PD1520s is a portable DLP projector offering native Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) resolution and 1200 ANSI lumens brightness. It uses a lamp light source with a rated service life of up to 20,000 hours (and up to 30,000 hours in eco mode). The compact silver chassis and 1.32 kg weight make it convenient to carry between home, classroom and meeting spaces.

Advantages

The projector delivers clear Full HD imagery with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 5000:1 contrast for defined visuals. Auto focus and 1:1 zoom simplify setup, while a 1.2 throw ratio enables flexible placement in small to medium rooms. Built-in 7 W RMS audio and quiet operation (down to 22 dB in eco mode) reduce the need for external speakers and minimise distraction during presentations. Wireless connectivity options and compact design support portable use.

Suitable for

• Home cinema and movie nights
• Classroom instruction and lectures
• Business presentations and meeting rooms
• Portable use for small events or on-the-go projection

When it may not be suitable

This model uses a lamp light source, so initial brightness will gradually decrease over long-term use and lamp replacement may be required after its rated lifetime. While 1200 ANSI lumens is suitable for dim to moderately lit rooms, it may be insufficient for very bright, sunlit environments without additional shading.

How to use

Place the Acer PD1520s on a stable surface or mount it according to the room layout, allowing for its 1.2 throw ratio to achieve the desired image size. Power on the projector and connect a source via HDMI or use wireless projection methods supported by the device. The projector’s auto focus will adjust the lens for a sharp image; use the 1:1 zoom to fine-tune framing. For prolonged use, select eco mode to reduce fan noise and extend lamp life.

What to consider before purchase

• Expected ambient light: 1200 ANSI lumens is best for dim to moderately lit rooms
• Maintenance: lamp lifespan and potential replacement after rated hours
• Room size and throw distance: ensure 1.2 throw ratio fits your setup
• Built-in audio power may be insufficient for larger venues without external speakers

Recommendations

For the best image quality, use the projector in a dimly lit room and position it according to the 1.2 throw ratio. Enable eco mode for quieter operation and longer lamp life when high brightness is not required.
