Actieve optische kabel (AOC) CBO SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q2M 2 m lengte

CBO SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q2M 2 m is an active optical cable (AOC) designed for SFP28 ports to provide a direct fiber connection for 25 Gbps interfaces. The cable integrates optical transceivers into a fixed assembly, removing the need for separate transceivers and patch cords. With a 2 m length and SFP28 connectivity, this AOC is intended for short-reach links between rack switches, network interface cards and storage devices where a compact, low-power high-speed link is required.

Advantages

This active optical cable reduces port power consumption compared with some discrete transceiver plus patch-cord combinations and simplifies installation by providing a single pre-terminated assembly. The integrated design lowers the number of connector interfaces, which can improve link reliability and reduce signal loss. The 25 Gbps SFP28-compatible interface supports high-throughput traffic while keeping cable management tidy in dense rack environments.

Suitable for

• Short-reach 25 Gbps links between switches in data center racks
• Direct connections from NICs to top-of-rack switches
• High-speed links between storage arrays and servers
• Environments where lower port power and reduced cabling complexity are desired

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 form-factor on both ends for direct device insertion
• Data rate: 25 Gbps per lane suitable for SFP28 interfaces
• Length: 2 meters total cable length
• Cable type: Active optical cable (integrated optical transceivers)
• Colour: Blue outer jacket for visual identification
• Typical use: Short-reach multimode/active optical connections inside racks

How to use

Insert each SFP28 end of the AOC into the SFP28 port of the two devices you want to interconnect, ensuring the latch engages. Verify link status on the devices and check that the negotiated speed is 25 Gbps. No separate transceiver installation or fibre patchcords are required. For best performance, avoid sharp bends and maintain the recommended bend radius for the optical cable. Power-cycle or reconfigure interfaces only if necessary when replacing or installing the cable.

Recommendations

Use this 2 m SFP28 AOC for short, direct 25 Gbps interconnects inside racks or between adjacent racks. Keep the cable routed to avoid tight corners and excessive stress on the connectors, and confirm device compatibility with SFP28 AOC modules before deployment.
