Actieve subwoofer Magnat Alpha RS12 — 12-inch driver, 120 W RMS, 20–200 Hz, klasse D, zwart

The Magnat Alpha RS12 active subwoofer integrates a 300 mm (12") long-throw woofer in a bass-reflex cabinet with two Airflex ports and a Class D amplifier delivering 120 W continuous power (240 W peak). The design reproduces frequencies down to 20 Hz and provides adjustable controls for volume, crossover frequency and phase to match room acoustics. The cabinet is made from MDF and is available in black ash or mocha finish; a removable fabric grille reveals the woofer. Dimensions: 360 mm (W) × 440 mm (D) × 465 mm (H).

Advantages

The Alpha RS12 offers deep low-frequency reproduction down to 20 Hz and a compact cabinet that fits home cinema and hi‑fi systems. Built-in amplification with 120 W RMS simplifies setup by removing the need for an external power amp, while adjustable volume, crossover and phase controls allow accurate integration with existing speakers. The removable grille and choice of finishes provide flexible placement and aesthetic options.

Suitable for

• Home cinema systems requiring impactful low end

How to use

Place the Magnat Alpha RS12 on a stable surface near the listening position or a wall for stronger bass reinforcement. Connect the subwoofer to your AV receiver or preamplifier using the appropriate line‑level or LFE input. Start with the volume and crossover set to mid positions, then play familiar audio material and adjust volume, crossover frequency and phase controls until the bass integrates smoothly with your main speakers. Ensure the removable grille is fitted if you want a discreet appearance, or remove it to expose the woofer.

Recommendations

The Alpha RS12 works best when calibrated to the room: experiment with placement and crossover/phase settings for seamless integration with your speakers. For home cinema, set the crossover in the receiver or on the subwoofer to the manufacturer‑recommended frequency for your main speakers; for stereo hi‑fi, use the crossover to achieve a natural roll‑off without localization of the bass.
