Adapter Rothenberger 170950 W21.8 x 1/4 SAE M – gasaansluitadapter

The Rothenberger 170950 W21.8 x 1/4 SAE M – gas fitting adapter converts a W21.8 (left-hand) thread to a 1/4" SAE male connection, allowing secure joining of service tools, hoses and gauges that use different thread standards. Designed for gas and refrigeration service applications, this compact adapter provides a straightforward mechanical interface for gas conditioning and maintenance tasks where a W21.8 connection must be adapted to a 1/4" SAE male fitting. The adapter is intended for use with compatible service equipment and conforms to common mechanical practices for gas and refrigeration fitting connections.

Advantages

The adapter delivers a compact and robust mechanical connection between W21.8 and 1/4" SAE male fittings, enabling compatibility across different equipment standards without modifying hoses or tools. Its simple design supports quick installation and removal, reducing downtime during service operations. The adapter is suitable for use in environments where reliable, leak-resistant mechanical fittings are required for gas and refrigeration servicing.

Suitable for

• Connecting refrigerant service hoses to equipment with W21.8 threads
• Linking gauges or charging lines that use 1/4" SAE male fittings to W21.8 ports
• Temporary or permanent mechanical adaptions in gas and refrigeration maintenance

Key specifications

• Thread conversion: W21.8 to 1/4" SAE male
• Intended application: gas and refrigeration service connections
• Construction: compact mechanical adapter suitable for service tools and hoses
• Installation: threaded mechanical connection requiring appropriate sealing practice

How to use

Ensure both mating threads are clean and free from debris or damage before installation. Apply appropriate thread sealing or sealing practice recommended for the specific gas or refrigerant system in use. Screw the adapter into the W21.8 female port by hand until seated, then tighten using the correct size wrench to secure the mechanical connection without over-torquing. Attach the 1/4" SAE male fitting of the hose or gauge to the adapter and check the connection for leaks using a suitable leak-detection method before putting the system into service.

Recommendations

Verify compatibility of materials and sealing methods with the specific refrigerant or gas being used. Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow industry safety procedures when connecting or disconnecting pressurised lines. Regularly inspect adapter threads for wear or damage and replace if any deterioration is observed.
