Adapter ShiverPeaks BS71242 Basic S TAE F stekker naar NFN en Western koppeling 6/4

The ShiverPeaks BS71242 Basic S adapter converts a TAE F (female) connection into NFN and Western (6/4) couplings, allowing devices with TAE sockets to interface with equipment that uses NFN or 6/4 Western telephone connectors. It is designed for straightforward line adaptation in environments that require bridging between older German TAE connectors and international NFN/Western plug types, maintaining basic signal continuity for voice and analog telephony applications.

Advantages

This adapter provides a compact and reliable mechanical conversion between TAE F and NFN/Western 6/4 connectors, eliminating the need for rewiring or complex modifications. Its simple design supports quick installation and reduces downtime when connecting legacy telephony devices to modern or foreign equipment. The adapter preserves the required contact mapping for standard analog telephone lines.

Suitable for

• Connecting TAE-equipped telephones to devices with NFN connectors
• Integrating equipment that uses Western 6/4 plugs with TAE sockets
• Temporary or permanent telephone line adaptations in homes and small offices
• Hooking up legacy PBX extensions and analog terminals

Key specifications

• Connector conversion: TAE F (female) to NFN and Western (6/4)
• Designed for analog voice/telephone lines
• Compact inline adapter form factor for in-line connection
• Durable plastic housing with metal contact terminals
• No active electronics — passive mechanical adapter

How to use

Insert the TAE F plug of the device or wall socket into the adapter’s TAE female interface, then connect the NFN or Western (6/4) plug of the telephone or cable to the corresponding coupling on the adapter. Ensure connectors are fully seated to maintain stable contact. The adapter requires no power and does not need configuration; after physical connection the line should be ready for standard analog voice use. If the call quality is not acceptable, verify that the wiring and polarity of the connected devices match expected analog telephone line standards.

Recommendations

Use the adapter for analog voice-only connections; avoid using it for digital services or ISDN lines that require specific signaling. Keep the adapter in dry, dust-free environments and avoid excessive bending of connected cables to preserve connector integrity.
