Afdichtingsschuim TESA 05559-101 6 m zelfklevend bruin

The TESA 05559-101 6 m self-adhesive brown seal foam is a flexible sealing strip designed to close gaps between 1 mm and 3.5 mm. Manufactured from resilient foam, the strip combines thermal insulation and sound reduction properties with a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for direct application to clean, dry surfaces. The brown colour makes it suitable for visible areas where a darker finish is preferred.

Advantages

The product provides a continuous, compressible seal that reduces air drafts and heat loss while dampening sound transmission through doors, windows and other joints. Its self-adhesive backing allows for fast installation without additional tools or fasteners. The foam material resists ordinary wear and retains flexibility over time, maintaining contact in irregular gaps and compensating for small movements.

Suitable for

• Sealing gaps around doors and windows (1–3.5 mm)
• Insulating small cracks in frames and panels
• Reducing draughts and improving energy efficiency
• Soundproofing minor acoustic leaks in interior partitions
• Edge sealing where a brown finish is desirable

Key specifications

• Length: 6 m
• Gap sealing range: 1 mm to 3.5 mm
• Colour: brown
• Material: compressible foam
• Adhesive type: pressure-sensitive self-adhesive backing

How to use

Measure the gap to ensure it falls within the specified 1–3.5 mm range and cut the foam strip to the required length. Clean and dry the surface, removing dust, grease or loose paint to ensure adhesion. Peel off the protective liner and press the adhesive side firmly onto the substrate along the full length, ensuring consistent contact. For best results, apply firm pressure for several seconds and allow the adhesive to set before exposing to mechanical stress.

Recommendations

For durable performance, use on clean, dry, and non-porous surfaces; avoid application to freshly painted or damp areas. Store the unused portion in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Periodically inspect the seal for compression or detachment and replace if the foam loses elasticity or the adhesive bond weakens.
