ALOGIC DP-naar-VGA-adapter EL2DPVGA-ADP 20 cm DisplayPort (stekker) naar VGA (bus)

ALOGIC DP to VGA adapter EL2DPVGA-ADP is a passive 20 cm cable assembly that converts a DisplayPort male output to a VGA female connector. The adapter is intended to connect DisplayPort-equipped laptops, desktops or graphics cards to VGA monitors, projectors and other analog displays. Being a simple passive adapter, it provides a direct electrical and physical transition from a DisplayPort source to a VGA sink without requiring driver installation.

Advantages

This ALOGIC adapter offers a compact, low-profile solution for interfacing modern DisplayPort outputs with legacy VGA displays. The short 20 cm cable reduces desk clutter and strain on ports while the female VGA connector accepts standard VGA cables for easy connection to monitors and projectors. The passive design keeps the adapter simple and plug-and-play for straightforward basic video output.

Suitable for

• Connecting DisplayPort laptops or graphics cards to VGA monitors
• Using VGA projectors in meeting rooms and classrooms
• Working with older displays that accept only analog video
• Temporary setups and presentations where basic video output is sufficient

Key specifications

• Connector 1: DisplayPort male
• Connector 2: VGA (DE-15) female
• Cable length: 20 cm
• Type: Passive adapter (no active signal conversion)
• Purpose: Digital DisplayPort to analog VGA signal interface

How to use

Insert the DisplayPort male connector into the DisplayPort output on the source device. Connect a standard VGA cable from the adapter's female VGA connector to the VGA input of the monitor or projector. Power on both devices and select the appropriate video input on the display. As a passive adapter, no driver installation is required; display settings such as resolution and refresh rate are adjusted on the source device as needed to match the capabilities of the VGA display.

Recommendations

For reliable image quality, set the source device to a resolution and refresh rate supported by the VGA display. Use a high-quality VGA cable for longer runs, and avoid excessive bending at the adapter connection to reduce mechanical stress on ports. If the source requires an active conversion from digital to analog for specific hardware, consider an active converter instead of a passive adapter.
