AOC CBO SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J5M 10G actieve optische kabel, 5 m

The AOC CBO SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J5M 10G active optical cable, 5 m delivers a factory-terminated short-reach fiber link that provides a 10 Gigabit connection between SFP+ ports. Designed for direct connection of switches, servers and storage within racks or across adjacent racks, this active optical cable integrates transceiver functionality in a single plug-and-play assembly to remove the need for separate transceivers and patch fiber. The 5 metre length and SFP+ form factor make it suitable for dense datacenter layouts where cable management and high throughput are required.

Advantages

The active optical design reduces electromagnetic interference and supports high-speed 10G transmission with low latency over the specified short reach. Its integrated SFP+ connectors provide hot-pluggable installation and compatibility with SFP+ ports that accept AOC modules. Being factory-terminated and pre-aligned simplifies deployment and improves reliability compared with field-terminated fiber. The slim fiber cable helps with airflow and rack cable routing in confined spaces.

Suitable for

• Top-of-rack and end-of-row switch-to-switch connections
• Server-to-switch links inside racks
• Storage array connections requiring 10 Gbps bandwidth
• Short-reach optical interconnects in datacenters and server rooms

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ active optical cable
• Data rate: 10 Gigabit Ethernet
• Length: 5 metres
• Cable type: single cable with factory-terminated optical cores
• Connector type: SFP+ compatible plugs at both ends
• Typical use-case: short-reach high-speed links between networking equipment

How to use

Insert each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on the devices to be linked, ensuring the retaining latch engages. No separate transceivers or fiber patching are required. After connection, check device interfaces and link LEDs to confirm the 10G link is established. For equipment that requires specific module support, verify compatibility with the device vendor’s SFP+ acceptance policies before installation.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius; avoid kinking and excessive tension. For best performance, keep connections clean and free of dust, and verify firmware or compatibility notes for network equipment when integrating AOC modules into mixed-vendor environments.
