AOC CBO SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J7M 10G actieve optische kabel, 7 m

The AOC SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J7M 10G active optical cable, 7 m, is a factory-terminated optical link in an SFP+ hot-pluggable form factor. It provides a 10 Gbps duplex connection over a 7-metre multimode optical fiber, intended for short-reach interconnects between servers, switches and storage systems. Compared with copper direct-attach cables, this active optical cable reduces electromagnetic interference and supports low-latency data transfer while maintaining a compact SFP+ footprint for straightforward installation into SFP+ ports that accept optical AOCs.

Advantages

This 7 m AOC delivers 10 Gbps throughput with lower signal attenuation over the specified distance and offers electrical isolation that minimizes EMI-related issues in dense rack environments. The hot-pluggable SFP+ connector simplifies deployment and replacement without powering down equipment. As a factory-terminated optical solution it eliminates separate transceiver and patch-cord mating, reducing installation time and potential connector mismatch.

Suitable for

• Short-reach server-to-switch links in data centers
• Top-of-rack and end-of-row interconnects
• Storage area network (SAN) connections and switch-to-switch uplinks
• Environments where reduced electromagnetic interference is required

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps duplex
• Form factor: SFP+ hot-pluggable
• Cable type: active optical multimode fiber
• Nominal cable length: 7 metres
• Typical use: short-reach interconnects (server, switch, storage)
• Latency: low, suitable for latency-sensitive traffic

How to use

Ensure the network ports support optical AOC modules in the SFP+ slot before installation. With equipment powered according to your site procedures, insert each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port until it latches. Verify link status through the host device interface and monitor link LEDs or management tools for proper negotiation at 10 Gbps. For removal, release the connector latch and pull the module straight out following the switch or server vendor’s instructions.

Recommendations

Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid sharp bends; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to preserve optical performance. Keep connectors covered when not in use and confirm compatibility with the equipment vendor’s supported optical AOC list for warranty and interoperability assurance.
