AOC-kabel BlueOptics 980-9I13F-00C020-BO QSFP28 InfiniBand 20 m blauw

The AOC Cable BlueOptics 980-9I13F-00C020-BO QSFP28 InfiniBand 20m Blue is a 20‑metre active optical cable (AOC) with QSFP28 connectors on both ends designed for high-speed InfiniBand and Ethernet links. The cable provides low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity suitable for data centre interconnects and high-performance computing clusters. Its blue jacket and stainless-steel elements offer a durable physical design while keeping the cable lightweight and manageable.

Advantages

This AOC cable delivers high data throughput with minimal signal loss and low latency thanks to its optical transmission and QSFP28 interface. The 20 m length allows flexible routing between racks or equipment without active repeaters, and the stainless-steel reinforced construction improves mechanical durability and longevity. Being an active optical solution, it reduces electromagnetic interference and heat compared with equivalent copper cables.

Suitable for

• Data centre rack-to-rack connections
• High-performance computing (HPC) clusters
• InfiniBand fabrics and low-latency networks
• Backplane or switch-to-switch interconnects up to 20 m

Key specifications

• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Connector type: QSFP28 to QSFP28
• Cable length: 20 m
• Colour: Blue with stainless-steel elements
• Weight: 0.15 kg
• Application: InfiniBand and high-speed Ethernet links

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each QSFP28 connector into the corresponding QSFP28 port on switches, adapters or host channel adapters. Ensure connectors are aligned and latched securely according to the equipment manufacturer's instructions. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive tensile stress; maintain the recommended bend radius for optical cables. No external power is required beyond the host ports; active optical components are powered through standard QSFP28 interfaces.

Recommendations

Inspect connector endfaces before installation and keep protective caps on when not in use. Avoid tight bends and avoid exposing the cable to sources of mechanical abrasion. For reliable performance in data centre environments, pair this AOC with compatible QSFP28 ports and verify link parameters after installation.
