AOC-kabel BlueOptics SFP-10G-AOC3M-BO 3 m SFP+ oranje

The AOC Cable BlueOptics SFP-10G-AOC3M-BO 3m SFP+ Orange is a 3-metre Active Optical Cable with SFP+ interfaces designed for short-range, high-bandwidth connections. This pre-terminated orange cable integrates optical transceivers and a fixed fibre link in a single assembly, eliminating the need for separate SFP+ modules and patch cords. It supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet links between switches, servers and storage systems inside racks and across adjacent racks in data centre and enterprise environments.

Advantages

This BlueOptics AOC delivers low latency and stable signal quality for 10Gbps links while reducing power consumption compared with standalone transceiver-plus-cable setups. The integrated design simplifies installation and inventory management and the bright orange jacket provides fast visual identification for managed cabling systems. Being a factory-terminated active optical cable, it reduces connector losses and helps maintain consistent link performance over the designed 3 m reach.

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting the SFP+ connector into compatible SFP+ ports on your networking equipment until the latch engages. Ensure both ends are connected to devices that support 10Gbps SFP+ AOC operation and that firmware or driver requirements for partner devices are met. No separate transceivers or fibre termination is required. Route the orange cable carefully to avoid sharp bends and secure it inside the rack to maintain airflow and prevent mechanical stress.

Recommendations

Verify device compatibility before deployment and check link status LEDs after insertion. Avoid tight bends and tensile stress on the cable; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Use the 3 m AOC for short-reach links within and between adjacent racks to ensure optimal signal quality and reduced latency.
