Aquarelpotlood Staedtler Noris aquarell 144 10

The Staedtler Noris aquarell 144 10 is a set of 36 watercolour pencils designed for artists who need reliable, blendable colour in a compact format. These colour pencils can be used dry for detailed drawing and shading or activated with water to create smooth washes and painterly effects. The pencil leads deliver vibrant pigments and a creamy texture that layer well and respond predictably when blended with a wet brush.

Advantages

The pencils combine solid pigment intensity with good lightfastness for typical creative applications, and their cores are formulated to dissolve evenly with water for consistent aquarelle effects. The wood casing is smooth and easy to sharpen, and the set includes a wide range of colours suitable for mixing and subtle gradations. The dual dry-and-wet usability makes the set versatile for sketching, illustration, mixed media and finished watercolour work.

Suitable for

• Sketching and detailed drawing
• Watercolour washes and mixed-media illustrations
• Colour blending and layering exercises
• Art education and hobby projects

Key specifications

• Pack contents: 36 coloured water-soluble pencils
• Colour range: Multicolour selection for mixing and shading
• Lead type: Water-soluble pigment core suitable for wet activation
• Finish: Smooth, blendable pigment with consistent dissolution in water
• Suitability: Dry use for drawing and wet use for aquarelle effects

How to use

Use the pencils dry for precise lines, cross-hatching and detailed shading. To create watercolour effects, apply colour to paper and then gently activate the pigment with a wet brush; the degree of dilution controls intensity and transparency. Layer colours progressively, allowing each layer to dry if stronger separation is required. Use heavier paper intended for water-based media to avoid buckling when applying water.

Recommendations

For best results, pair the pencils with medium to heavyweight watercolour paper (minimum 200 g/m²) and a soft round brush to achieve smooth blends. Store the set in a dry place and sharpen with a quality sharpener to avoid breakage of the pigment cores.
