Ascher Racing McLaren Artura Sport-SC Butterfly Style Quick Release — sim-racing stuurwielrand

The Ascher Racing McLaren Artura Sport-SC Butterfly Style Quick Release steering wheel rim is a purpose-built sim racing wheel rim that replicates the butterfly-style layout used on the McLaren Artura Sport-SC. Designed for use with compatible quick release systems, this rim provides the ergonomic shape and control placement expected in high-fidelity racing simulation setups. It is intended to be mounted on a compatible hub and base and used alongside standard sim racing pedals and accessories.

Advantages

The wheel rim offers a compact butterfly-style profile that improves visibility of virtual instrument clusters and enhances hand positioning for aggressive driving inputs. Constructed with materials suitable for frequent use in simulation, the layout reproduces authentic control locations to facilitate muscle memory transfer between real and simulated driving. Compatibility with quick release systems enables fast detachment and mounting, simplifying changes between different rims or setups.

Suitable for

• Serious sim racers who require a compact butterfly-style rim for GT and sports car simulations
• Drivers practicing real-world vehicle ergonomics or seeking authentic control placement
• Racing setups that use quick release hubs for rapid wheel changes
• Home or cockpit rigs where improved forward visibility and compact control layout are desired

Key specifications

• Form factor: butterfly / flat-top and flat-bottom rim profile tailored to McLaren Artura Sport-SC style
• Mount type: compatible with standard sim racing quick release hubs (requires matching hub adapter)
• Material: durable construction suitable for extended use in simulation environments
• Grip: ergonomic rim shape designed for controlled hand placement and precise inputs
• Control layout: reproduction of McLaren-style button and paddle positions for authentic feel
• Finish: simulated or textured surfaces for consistent tactile feedback during sessions

How to use

Attach the rim to a compatible quick release hub following the hub manufacturer's instructions, ensuring secure engagement before powering on the wheel base. Configure the wheel in your sim software or wheel base settings to map buttons and paddles to desired functions. Use the ergonomic rim edges and control placement to optimize hand positioning, and check all fasteners periodically for tightness during longer sessions. If necessary, adjust pedal and seat position to maintain correct driving posture when using the butterfly-style rim.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use the rim with quick release hubs and bases that explicitly state mechanical compatibility. Regularly inspect mounting points and the rim surface for wear. Map controls in your simulation software to match the rim's layout before competitive use to ensure predictable inputs.
