Microfoon Aston Microphones Spirit

The Aston Microphones Spirit is a studio condenser microphone engineered for detailed vocal and instrument recording. It is built with a cardioid polar pattern that reduces off-axis noise and focuses on the source, and it covers a wide frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz to capture both low-end body and high-frequency detail. The microphone's robust construction and the supplied shock mount help minimise handling noise and mechanical vibration, making it suitable for a range of recording environments from home studios to professional booths.

Advantages

The cardioid pickup pattern provides effective isolation from room reflections and background noise while preserving natural tonal balance. A broad 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency response ensures accurate reproduction of bass, midrange and treble content. The solid mechanical design increases reliability in regular studio use, and the included shock mount reduces low-frequency rumble and handling artifacts for cleaner recordings.

Suitable for

• Studio vocal recordings
• Acoustic and electric instruments
• Voice-over and podcast production
• Home and project studio tracking

Key specifications

• Microphone type: large-diaphragm condenser
• Polar pattern: cardioid
• Frequency response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz
• Included accessories: shock mount
• Build: robust studio-grade housing

How to use

Position the Aston Microphones Spirit at an appropriate distance from the sound source—typically 6–12 inches for vocals—angled slightly to minimise plosive energy. Mount the microphone in the supplied shock mount and connect to a microphone preamp or audio interface that provides phantom power, as required by condenser microphones. Adjust input gain to avoid clipping while preserving dynamic range, and apply basic EQ and compression during mixing as needed to fit the recording into the track.

Recommendations

For best results, use a pop shield when recording close vocals, record in a treated or acoustically controlled space to reduce room reflections, and allow the microphone to warm up briefly after powering on. Regularly check mounting hardware and cables to maintain consistent performance.
