ATEN 2-poorts USB 4K HDMI dual-display KVMP-switch (kabel inbegrepen)

ATEN CS742H is a 2‑port KVM switch that enables one keyboard, one mouse and two HDMI displays to control two computers. Designed for desktop environments and small workstations, the unit supports dual 4K HDMI outputs per connected system, allowing users to keep full dual‑monitor workflows while switching between computers with a single USB set of peripherals. The compact design integrates easily into a workstation layout and reduces cable clutter while providing clear video and responsive peripheral control.

Advantages

The CS742H supports dual 4K HDMI displays, delivering high-resolution video across two monitors for each connected computer. USB connectivity ensures broad compatibility with standard keyboards and mice, while the integrated KVM switching mechanism provides seamless, low-latency switching between systems. The switch simplifies multi-system desktop management and saves physical space compared with using separate input devices for each computer.

Suitable for

• Workstations with dual‑monitor setups requiring control of two computers
• Home offices or small offices managing separate systems (e.g., work and personal PC)
• IT administrators needing quick access to two machines from one console
• Content creators and designers using dual 4K displays for multitasking

Key specifications

• Number of controlled computers: 2
• Display interfaces: Dual HDMI outputs per computer supporting up to 4K resolution
• Video resolution support: up to 4K for connected displays
• Peripheral interface: USB for keyboard and mouse
• Form factor: desktop KVM switch designed for compact workstation placement

How to use

Connect each computer to the KVM switch using the supplied HDMI and USB cables so that both HDMI outputs from each computer are linked to the switch and the keyboard/mouse are connected to the front or rear USB ports as instructed by the manufacturer. Power on the computers and the KVM unit if required. Use the switch selection method (button, hotkey or on‑unit control depending on model specifics) to toggle control between the two connected systems. When switching, allow a few seconds for displays and USB peripherals to reinitialize and report to the active computer.

Recommendations

For consistent dual‑monitor performance at 4K, use high‑quality HDMI cables rated for the required bandwidth and verify both connected computers output matching resolution and refresh rate settings. Position the KVM switch close enough to connected devices to avoid excessive cable runs and ensure USB peripherals are compatible with standard HID profiles for optimal switching behavior.
