Audient NERO - monitorcontroller

Audient NERO is a monitor controller engineered for studio and live monitoring with four independent headphone outputs to support simultaneous private monitoring. The unit centralizes monitor level control and source selection, allowing producers, engineers and performers to manage main outputs and multiple headphone mixes from a single device. The compact design fits project studios and small control rooms while providing practical routing and level management for collaborative sessions and tracking.

Advantages

Audient NERO delivers precise monitor level control and easy source switching without requiring complex setups. The four headphone outputs enable several listeners to hear different mixes or the same source at controlled levels. Physical controls provide tactile adjustment for quick changes during sessions, and the device integrates with existing studio gear to simplify routing and reduce the need for additional adapters or patching.

Suitable for

• Project studios needing centralized monitor and headphone management
• Recording sessions with multiple performers or engineers
• Mixing with collaborators in the same room
• Live monitoring and cueing during tracking

Key specifications

• Monitor controller with source selection and master level control
• Four independent headphone outputs for simultaneous private monitoring
• Compact form factor suitable for desktop or small-rack placement
• Front-panel tactile controls for level and source selection
• Low-noise audio path designed for accurate monitoring

How to use

Connect your main monitoring outputs and additional sources to the controller inputs, then connect studio monitors to the monitor outputs. Plug headphones into any of the four front-panel headphone outputs to provide individual monitoring to multiple listeners. Use the front-panel source selector to choose the active input and adjust the master monitor level with the dedicated control. During sessions, change headphone volumes or switch sources quickly with the tactile controls to accommodate different monitoring needs.

Recommendations

Place Audient NERO within easy reach for fast level adjustments and source switching during recording or mixing. Use predictable gain staging at the input sources and monitors to preserve headroom and ensure accurate level control. When multiple listeners require separate mixes, set a reference mix on the monitors and adjust headphone levels to suit comfort without altering the main monitor level.
