Ultraviolet (UV) camerafilter B+W BASIC 010 8,2 cm zwart

The B+W BASIC 010 Ultraviolet (UV) camera filter B+W BASIC 010 8.2 cm Black reduces atmospheric haze and helps improve color saturation in outdoor photography. Designed as a single-pack screw-in filter with an 8.2 cm diameter, this UV filter provides basic protection for the front element of lenses while limiting ultraviolet light transmission that can cause bluish casts and reduced clarity in daylight images.

Advantages

This B+W BASIC UV filter offers a simple and reliable way to cut UV light and decrease haze without altering overall color balance. The black metal frame provides secure mounting and protection of the lens surface from dust, moisture and light impacts. As a screw-in filter sized for 8.2 cm lenses, it is compact, lightweight and easy to attach or remove in field shooting situations.

Suitable for

• Landscape photography in bright daylight or hazy conditions
• Outdoor travel and street photography where lens protection is required
• General-purpose use to reduce UV-induced color shifts at high altitudes or near water
• Photographers who need a basic protective filter for routine shooting

Key specifications

• Filter type: Ultraviolet (UV)
• Mount type: screw-in circular filter
• Diameter: 8.2 cm
• Frame color: black metal
• Pack quantity: single

How to use

Attach the filter by carefully screwing it onto the lens front threads until it seats securely without overtightening. Use the filter to reduce haze and UV effects when shooting landscapes, seascapes or high-altitude scenes under strong daylight. Remove the filter when not required or when using specialized filters (polarizers, ND filters) that require different stacking order; when stacking, ensure threads and filters are compatible to avoid vignetting on wide-angle lenses. Clean the glass surfaces with a microfiber cloth and appropriate lens cleaning fluid to maintain image quality.

Recommendations

For best results, use the UV filter outdoors in daylight conditions where atmospheric haze or UV light affects image clarity. Keep the filter thread and mounting surfaces clean and store the filter in a protective case when not in use to prevent scratches. If you plan to stack multiple filters, check for vignetting on wide-angle lenses and tighten only as much as needed to secure the filter.
