BlueOptics 10GB-F30-SFPP-BO InfiniBand-glasvezelkabel 30 m SFP+ SFP+ AOC oranje

The BlueOptics 10GB-F30-SFPP-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable is a 30 m Active Optical Cable (AOC) with SFP+ connectors on both ends, designed for high-speed short-range links in data centers and high-performance computing environments. The pre-assembled multimode fibre cable integrates transmitter and receiver modules at each end, supports 10GBASE-SR signalling and complies with SFP+ MSA mechanical and electrical standards to ensure interoperability with SFP+-compatible ports.

Advantages

This 30 m AOC provides low-latency, high-throughput 10 Gbit/s links without susceptibility to electromagnetic interference, and reduces the need for patching and connector cleaning compared with patch-cord based multimode links. BlueOptics AOCs are manufactured to industry MSA specifications and use established optical and IC components to achieve long service life and consistent performance. Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM/DOM) is supported where host hardware implements the feature, enabling real-time monitoring of optical parameters.

Suitable for

• Server-to-switch and switch-to-switch connections within racks and across adjacent racks
• High-performance computing clusters and InfiniBand or Ethernet fabrics requiring 10 Gbit/s short-range links
• Storage area networks (FCoE) and SAN uplinks supporting 10GBASE-SR
• Environments where reduced electromagnetic interference and simplified cabling are required

Key specifications

• Length: 30 m
• Connector type: SFP+ to SFP+
• Supported protocol: 10GBASE-SR (10 Gbit/s)
• Media: Multimode fibre (active optical cable with integrated transceivers)
• MSA compliance: SFP+ AOC form factor and electrical/mechanical compatibility
• Monitoring: Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM/DOM) support where host device allows
• Typical applications: Short-range data centre links, HPC interconnects, storage networks

How to use

Insert one SFP+ connector into the host device SFP+ port and the other connector into the remote SFP+ port; the AOC is hot-pluggable and requires no separate power supply. Verify that both devices support SFP+ AOC modules and the 10GBASE-SR protocol. If the host supports DDM/DOM, confirm monitoring functions are enabled in the management interface to observe optical parameters such as supply voltage, transmit bias current, receive power and temperature.

Recommendations

Handle the AOC by the connector housings when installing or removing to avoid stress on the cable and transceiver interfaces. Avoid tight bends and secure the cable to prevent strain; ensure host equipment firmware and port configuration permit third-party SFP+ AOCs for full compatibility. For critical links, test connectivity and DDM readouts after installation to confirm expected operation.
