Actieve optische SFP+-kabel CBO SFP-AOC-10G-30M 10Gbit/s 30m

BlueOptics SFP-AOC-10G-30M is a fixed-length SFP+ active optical cable engineered for 10Gbps data transmission over a 30-metre span. The integrated optical link eliminates the need for separate transceivers and provides a compact, direct-connect solution for connecting switches, servers and storage systems. Designed for low latency and immunity to electromagnetic interference, this active optical cable is intended for use in data centres and high-speed network environments where reliable 10G interconnects and tidy cabling are priorities.

Advantages

The active optical cable delivers stable 10Gbps throughput with low insertion loss and minimal latency compared to copper alternatives. Its fixed 30 m length simplifies planning and reduces inventory of separate transceivers and patch cords. Being optical, the cable is immune to EMI and crosstalk, supports longer reach than typical copper SFP+ DACs, and reduces heat and power issues in dense rack environments.

Suitable for

• Direct-connect links between network switches in data centres
• Server-to-switch and storage-to-switch connections requiring 10Gbps
• High-density rack deployments where compact, fixed-length cabling is preferred
• Environments sensitive to electromagnetic interference

Key specifications

• Form factor: SFP+ active optical cable (AOC)
• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Length: 30 metres (fixed)
• Transmission medium: multimode/mating-optical AOC (integrated optical link)
• Latency: low, suitable for low-latency interconnects
• Electromagnetic immunity: optical transmission immune to EMI
• Compatibility: interoperable with SFP+ ports supporting direct-attach AOCs

How to use

Insert each SFP+ connector end into the corresponding SFP+ port on devices such as switches, servers or storage appliances. Ensure devices are powered down or support hot-plugging per vendor guidance when inserting or removing the cable. Confirm link status and negotiated speed in the device management interface. No separate transceivers, fibre patch cords or additional optics configuration are required beyond standard SFP+ port settings.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain; maintain the manufacturer’s recommended bend radius. Use the fixed 30 m length for planned point-to-point connections and avoid unnecessary splicing or extension. Verify device compatibility with SFP+ AOC modules and check firmware or platform notes for any required settings to enable full 10Gbps operation.
