AOC SFP28 actieve optische kabel 3m CBO SFP28-AOC-3M-FR-BO

AOC SFP28 Active Optical Cable 3m CBO SFP28-AOC-3M-FR-BO is a 3‑meter active optical cable engineered for 25Gb/s SFP28 ports. It provides a fiber-based short‑reach interconnect for switches, servers and storage devices, delivering low latency and high bandwidth while reducing electromagnetic interference and power consumption compared with equivalent copper links. The cable is intended for data center environments where reliable, high-speed uplinks and server-to-switch connections are required.

Advantages

The active optical construction ensures consistent signal integrity over the 3 m length and supports 25 Gigabit per second throughput with low latency. Optical transmission reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and eliminates ground loop issues common to copper cabling. The design lowers power draw and heat generation at each endpoint relative to comparable copper assemblies, and the flexible optical cable assembly simplifies routing in dense rack environments.

Suitable for

• Data center uplinks between switches and aggregation devices
• Server-to-switch connections in rack and blade server deployments
• High-performance storage network links and SAN interconnects
• Short-reach 25GbE interconnects where low EMI and low latency are required

Key specifications

• Length: 3 meters
• Interface: SFP28 optical connectors for 25Gb/s ports
• Data rate: 25 Gigabits per second
• Type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Typical application: Short-reach links for switches, servers and storage
• Benefits: Low latency, reduced electromagnetic interference, lower power consumption compared with copper

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on the networking devices until the latch engages. Ensure both devices support SFP28 AOC modules and 25Gb/s operation. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and areas with mechanical strain; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius for optical assemblies. After connection, verify link status and speed through the device management interface and monitor for error counters during initial operation.

Recommendations

Use the cable in rack-mounted and short-distance interconnects within the same data hall or equipment room. Avoid repeated flexing near the connector ends, and keep the cable away from sharp edges and high-heat sources. Confirm compatibility with switch and server vendors’ supported transceiver lists if strict vendor validation is required.
