AOC SFP28 actieve optische kabel, merk CBO, model AOC-SFP-25G-1M-BO, 1 m, 25 Gbit/s

CBO AOC-SFP-25G-1M-BO is a 1-metre active optical cable with SFP28 connectors that supports a 25 Gbit/s data rate. It is engineered for short-reach high-speed connections between switches, servers and network interface cards, offering low latency and reduced susceptibility to electromagnetic interference. The compact form factor simplifies cable routing in dense rack environments and is suitable for modern data centre and enterprise network infrastructure requiring reliable 25 Gbps links.

Advantages

The active optical design delivers consistent 25 Gbit/s performance with minimal signal loss over the 1 m distance and reduces heat and power compared to some copper alternatives. SFP28 connector compatibility ensures straightforward integration with ports designed for 25Gbps modules and adapters. The optical medium provides superior immunity to electromagnetic interference, helps maintain signal integrity in high-density installations and supports compact cable management for constrained rack spaces.

Suitable for

• Short-reach interconnects between switches and top-of-rack devices
• Direct connections from servers to 25Gbps network interface cards
• High-density patching in data centre racks
• Link aggregation or spine-leaf fabrics requiring 25 Gbit/s links

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 on both ends
• Length: 1 metre
• Maximum data rate: 25 Gbit/s
• Medium: active optical cable (AOC)
• Typical use: short-reach, single-mode multimode replacement for short links (OEM compatibility dependent)
• Latency: low, suitable for time-sensitive traffic

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding 25Gbps-capable SFP28 port on switches, servers or network adapters until the module latches. No additional transceivers or patch panels are required for direct attach links. Ensure ports are powered and configured for 25 Gbit/s operation in the device firmware or operating system. Verify link status and speed in the network equipment management interface after insertion. For removal, depress the latch and pull the connector straight out to avoid damaging the port.

Recommendations

Use the cable in indoor, rack or cabinet environments with controlled bend radii and without exposure to excessive moisture or mechanical strain. Verify compatibility with the host device vendor for any carrier or firmware requirements before deployment. For optimal airflow and management, route the cable alongside existing trunking and avoid sharp bends near the connectors.
