AOC SFP28 Active Optical kabel CBO BO272703Q3M, 3 m lengte, 25Gbps SFP28

Active Optical Cable (AOC) with SFP28 connectors, model BO272703Q3M, 3 meters in length, designed for 25 Gbps data transmission over a single SFP28 link. This AOC provides a compact, plug-and-play SFP28 form factor for short-reach interconnects between switches, servers and storage systems. By using optical cable technology it reduces power consumption and electromagnetic interference compared with equivalent copper solutions while offering low latency and stable high-speed connectivity suitable for data center and enterprise network environments.

Advantages

The AOC delivers 25Gbps throughput with SFP28 compatibility, enabling straightforward hot-pluggable connections without additional transceivers. Optical construction reduces signal degradation over the three-metre span and eliminates susceptibility to electromagnetic interference. The integrated SFP28 form factor simplifies installation and management, and the lower power profile decreases thermal load in densely populated racks.

Suitable for

• Short-reach switch-to-switch links in data center topologies
• Server-to-switch or server-to-storage interconnects requiring 25Gbps bandwidth
• High-density rack deployments where reduced power and cable bulk are important
• Environments sensitive to electromagnetic interference where optical links are preferred

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 on both ends
• Maximum data rate: 25 Gbps per link
• Cable type: active optical cable (single multimode/OMx family dependent on vendor)
• Length: 3 metres
• Form factor: hot-pluggable SFP28
• Typical use case: short-reach interconnects within racks and between adjacent racks

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 slot on networking equipment while the devices are powered according to vendor guidance. The AOC is plug-and-play and should be recognized by compatible network ports without separate transceivers. Route the 3 m cable to avoid sharp bends and physical stress; maintain minimum bend radius as specified by the equipment vendor to preserve optical performance. If link does not establish, verify port configuration, firmware compatibility and link negotiation settings on the connected devices.

Recommendations

Use this 3 m SFP28 AOC for short-range 25Gbps links inside racks or between adjacent racks. Prefer optical AOCs in high-density, interference-sensitive installations and confirm compatibility with switch and server vendor SFP28 port firmware before deployment.
