BlueOptics CBL-MPO12-OM4-2M InfiniBand glasvezelkabel MPO 2m OM4

The BlueOptics CBL-MPO12-OM4-2M InfiniBand fibre optic cable MPO 2m OM4 is a 2-metre multimode fibre cable designed for high-density, high-speed networking environments. It features MPO/MTP style multi-fibre connectors and OM4 multimode fibre with a 125 µm core diameter, providing low loss and consistent signal performance for short- to medium-range links in data centres and network racks.

Advantages

This MPO fibre cable supports dense parallel optics deployments and reduces cable bulk in installations that require multiple fibres in a single connector. OM4 multimode glass improves bandwidth-distance performance compared with earlier multimode grades, enabling reliable transmission for InfiniBand and other high-throughput applications. The 2-metre length balances manageability and reach for patching between switches, transceivers and patch panels in typical rack layouts.

Suitable for

• Data centre interconnects and top-of-rack to switch patching
• InfiniBand clusters and high-performance computing environments
• Multi-fibre transceiver connections and parallel optics links
• Server and storage area network (SAN) cabling within racks

Key specifications

• Cable type: Multimode optical fibre (OM4)
• Connector type: MPO/MTP multi-fibre connector
• Fibre core diameter: 125 µm
• Length: 2 metres
• Typical application: Short- to medium-range high-speed links
• Construction: Multi-fibre trunk/patch configuration for parallel optics

How to use

Install the cable by aligning the MPO connector keying with the corresponding adapter or transceiver housing and insert until the connector latches. Use appropriate cable management and bend-radius protection in patch panels or rack channels to avoid excessive stress on the fibre. When connecting parallel optics modules, ensure correct orientation and polarity of the MPO ends to match transmitter and receiver mapping in transceivers or breakout assemblies.

Recommendations

Inspect connector endfaces before mating and clean with approved fibre cleaning tools when necessary to maintain low insertion loss. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical strain, and secure with cable ties or organisers designed for fibre to preserve performance. Verify link performance after installation with suitable optical test equipment or by checking network diagnostics.
