BlueOptics SFP-25G-AOC4M-BO InfiniBand glasvezelkabel 5 m SFP28 male

The BlueOptics SFP-25G-AOC4M-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable 5 m SFP28 Male is a 5-metre active optical cable designed for high-speed point-to-point connections. It uses SFP28-compatible male connectors to provide reliable 25 Gbps-class data transmission over optical fiber for server interconnects, switches and storage systems in data centres and enterprise networks. The cable is intended for short-range high-bandwidth links where reduced latency and electrical isolation are required.

Advantages

This BlueOptics AOC offers consistent signal integrity and low insertion loss thanks to its optical design. Its SFP28 male form factor ensures compatibility with SFP28 ports and many SFP-compatible cages, enabling direct plug-and-play installation without additional transceivers. The 5 m length balances rack-to-rack connectivity and cabling flexibility while eliminating electromagnetic interference common to copper alternatives. The cable’s compact construction simplifies airflow and cable management in dense rack environments.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting servers and top-of-rack switches in data centres
• High-speed links between storage arrays and hosts
• Low-latency connections in high-performance computing (HPC) clusters
• Short-reach connections inside equipment cabinets and racks

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 male on both ends
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Nominal data rate: 25 Gbps class
• Length: 5 metres
• Transmission medium: optical fiber
• Typical application: InfiniBand / 25G Ethernet-compatible interconnects

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 male connector into the respective SFP/SFP28 port until it latches. Ensure devices are powered down or supporting hot-plugging before insertion if recommended by the equipment vendor. Verify link status LEDs or management interfaces after connection to confirm the link is active and negotiated at the expected data rate. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to preserve optical performance.

Recommendations

For optimal reliability, use this AOC for short to medium rack-to-rack runs within a single room or adjacent racks. Avoid repeated flexing near connector ends and keep the cable away from sources of physical abrasion. Check compatibility with your switches and host adapters for SFP28 and InfiniBand support before deployment.
