BlueOptics SFP-25G-D-AOC-25M-BO SFP28 actieve optische kabel, 25 m, aqua

BlueOptics SFP-25G-D-AOC-25M-BO is an active optical cable assembly with SFP28 connectors at both ends, designed to provide a 25 Gbps fibre link over multi-mode fibre. The cable is 25 metres long, features an aqua-coloured jacket and a lightweight construction (0.07 kg), and is intended for direct connection between SFP28 ports on switches, servers and storage devices. The assembly integrates transmitter and receiver modules at each end to support high-speed serial transport while complying with SFP28 mechanical and electrical interfaces.

Advantages

The integrated active optical design eliminates the need for separate transceivers and patch cords, reducing installation complexity and saving rack space. With SFP28-to-SFP28 connectivity and a 25 m reach, the cable supports short-range high-bandwidth links in data centres and telecom racks. The aqua-coloured jacket provides easy visual identification of 25G multimode links and the lightweight construction simplifies handling during deployment.

Suitable for

• Server-to-switch connections in data centre topologies
• Switch-to-switch uplinks and aggregation links within racks or across adjacent racks
• Storage area network (SAN) interconnects that require 25 Gbps links
• Telecom and carrier equipment interconnects with SFP28 ports supporting 25GBASE-SR4 or similar short-range protocols

Key specifications

• Cable length: 25 m
• Connector type: SFP28 to SFP28 (male-to-male)
• Data rate: up to 25 Gbit/s
• Colour: aqua
• Weight: 0.07 kg

How to use

Install the BlueOptics active optical cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port until it clicks into place, following your equipment vendor’s port handling instructions. Ensure both endpoints support 25 Gbps operation and compatible short-range optical protocols. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; maintain the minimum bend radius recommended by the equipment or cable vendor. Power and configuration are handled by the connected devices; no separate transceivers or external power supplies are required for the cable itself.

Recommendations

Verify compatibility with your switch, server or storage platform prior to installation and, where possible, perform a link test after installation to confirm 25 Gbps operation. Avoid excessive bending or compression of the cable jacket and keep connector dust caps on until connection to prevent contamination of optical interfaces.
