SFP+ AOC CBO Viavi SFP-AOC-10G-30M 10Gbps actieve optische kabel, 30 m

The SFP+ AOC CBO Viavi SFP-AOC-10G-30M is a 10Gbps Active Optical Cable built for direct connection between SFP+ ports over a fixed 30-meter length. Intended for use in data centers and network racks, this AOC delivers a compact, low-latency link suitable for high-bandwidth interconnects between switches, servers and storage devices. The cable is designed for plug-and-play operation, reducing the need for separate transceiver modules and minimizing cable bulk compared with traditional fiber patch cords.

Advantages

The active optical construction provides stable 10 Gbps throughput with reduced electromagnetic interference and improved signal integrity over longer distances compared to copper direct-attach cables. Its fixed-length format ensures predictable channel characteristics and simplifies inventory management. Compatibility with standard SFP+ cages enables straightforward hot-plug installation and fast deployment in dense rack environments.

Suitable for

• 10GbE links between data center switches
• Server-to-switch and storage-to-switch connections
• High-density rack installations where cable bulk must be minimized
• Low-latency interconnects in virtualized and high-performance computing environments

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ form factor for hot-pluggable connection
• Data rate: 10 Gbps full-duplex
• Length: 30 meters fixed
• Optical type: active twinax optical cable with integrated transceivers
• Latency: low-latency design suitable for time-sensitive traffic
• Power: low power consumption characteristic of AOC modules
• Operating environment: suitable for standard data center operating temperatures

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ ports on network devices until the latch engages. Ensure devices are powered and configured to support 10 Gbps SFP+ links; the module should be recognized automatically by compliant equipment. Route the fixed-length cable carefully within racks to avoid sharp bends and to maintain proper airflow around equipment. No additional transceivers or fiber patch cords are required for operation.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, verify compatibility with your switch and server vendor before deployment and maintain a minimum bend radius as specified by rack and cable management standards. Use the 30 m fixed length for direct rack-to-rack or row-to-row connections where fiber patching would add unnecessary complexity. Periodically inspect connectors for contamination and power-cycle devices if link negotiation issues occur.
