BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-15M-NG-BO InfiniBand glasvezelkabel 15 m SFP28 male

The BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-15M-NG-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable 15m SFP28 Male is a 15-metre active optical cable (AOC) with SFP28 male connectors on both ends. Designed for 25 Gbit/s class links, this multi-mode fibre AOC integrates transceivers and polymer optical interfaces to deliver low-latency, high-throughput connections between switches, routers and servers in data centre and enterprise network environments. The cable follows common SFP28 mechanical and electrical interfaces for direct hot-plug use in compatible ports.

Advantages

This 15 m BlueOptics AOC provides electrical-to-optical conversion in a single assembled cable, reducing insertion complexity and ensuring controlled optical performance over short to mid-range links. The SFP28 male terminations offer plug-and-play compatibility with devices that accept SFP28 AOCs, while the integrated transmitter and receiver elements lower signal loss compared with passive copper alternatives at equivalent bandwidths. The multi-mode design supports established short-range protocols and helps maintain stable data rates for high-density rack connectivity.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between top-of-rack and leaf switches
• Server-to-switch connections in data centres
• High-speed links for storage arrays and SAN equipment
• Short-range links within networking cabinets and equipment rooms

Key specifications

• Length: 15 metres
• Connector type: SFP28 male to SFP28 male
• Transmission medium: multi-mode active optical cable (AOC)
• Supported data rate: up to 25 Gbit/s
• Form factor: SFP28 integrated AOC with transmitter and receiver
• Typical use case: short to mid-range high-speed data links

How to use

Insert each SFP28 plug into the corresponding SFP28-compatible port on your network device until the latch engages. Ensure both devices support SFP28 AOCs and the required 25 Gbit/s protocol. Verify link status through the device management interface; the cable requires no separate power or configuration beyond standard port settings. For best results, connect devices that are powered down or follow hot-plug guidance from the hardware vendor if connecting live systems.

Recommendations

Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid tight bends; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Use in controlled indoor environments such as data centres and equipment rooms, and confirm device compatibility with SFP28 AOC modules to ensure stable operation at 25 Gbit/s.
