BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-25M-VA-BO SFP28 actieve optische kabel, 25 m, mintkleur

The BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-25M-VA-BO is an active optical cable with SFP28 connectors on both ends and a 25 m mint-coloured jacket. Designed for 25G environments and high-speed fibre optic links, this AOC provides a direct optical connection between SFP28 ports in switches, servers and storage devices. It implements an integrated transmitter and receiver on each end to carry multi-mode optical signals while maintaining low latency and high bandwidth suitable for data centre interconnects and performance-sensitive networking.

Advantages

This 25 m active optical cable eliminates the need for separate transceivers and patch cords by combining the optical engine and connector in a single assembly, reducing cable management complexity. The SFP28 interfaces follow standard form-factor compatibility for straightforward hot-pluggable installation into SFP28 ports. The mint-coloured jacket makes identification easier in dense cabling environments. Lightweight construction reduces strain on equipment and simplifies routing in racks and trays.

Suitable for

• High-density server-to-switch connections in data centres
• Switch-to-switch uplinks requiring 25G links
• Storage system interconnects and SAN links
• Short-reach multi-mode fibre links within racks or across adjacent racks

Key specifications

• Cable length: 25 m
• Connector type (both ends): SFP28
• Typical data rate support: up to 25 Gbit/s
• Optical media: active optical cable using multi-mode fibre with integrated Tx/Rx
• Product colour: mint
• Weight: 0.15 kg

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on your switch, server or storage device until it latches. Ensure devices are powered and configured to recognize SFP28 AOC links; the cable is hot-pluggable so no additional tools are required. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; maintain the minimum bend radius recommended for multi-mode fibre assemblies. Verify link negotiation and traffic flow using your equipment management interface.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short-reach 25G connections within racks or between adjacent racks in data centres. Avoid running near high-power electrical sources and protect connectors from dust when not in use. For reliable operation, confirm device compatibility with SFP28 AOC assemblies and keep firmware or hardware vendor guidance in mind when deploying at scale.
