Bosch Universal Chain 40 1800 W zwart, groen, rood

The Bosch Universal Chain 40 Electric Chainsaw 1800 W 40 cm Blade is an electric power saw designed for cutting firewood, pruning branches, and general garden maintenance. Equipped with an 1800 W motor and a 40 cm guide bar, this model delivers a chain speed of 12 m/s and a low vibration emission of 4 m/s², offering a balance of cutting performance and user comfort. Compact dimensions and ergonomic handling make the saw suitable for repetitive cutting tasks while maintaining maneuverability in tighter spaces.

Advantages

The electric drive provides consistent torque and a straightforward start-up without petrol refuelling or exhaust emissions, while the 1800 W motor ensures sufficient power for medium-duty cutting tasks. The 40 cm blade and 12 m/s chain speed allow efficient cutting of logs and branches. Low vibration emission reduces operator fatigue during extended use, and the compact form factor improves handling and storage. The design emphasizes ease of maintenance, straightforward chain tensioning, and predictable cutting performance.

Suitable for

• Cutting firewood and logs up to medium diameter
• Pruning and trimming trees and large shrubs
• General garden and yard maintenance
• DIY outdoor woodworking projects

Key specifications

• Motor power: 1800 W
• Guide bar length: 40 cm
• Chain speed: 12 m/s
• Vibration emission: 4 m/s²
• Drive type: electric (corded)
• Design: compact, ergonomic housing for improved maneuverability

How to use

Prior to use, ensure the chain is properly tensioned and lubricated according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Connect the saw to a suitable power supply using an outdoor-rated extension cable if required. Hold the saw with both hands, position the guide bar on the cut, and apply steady pressure while maintaining control; avoid forcing the saw through the wood. Use the saw at a steady chain speed and let the saw’s power perform the cutting. After finishing, disconnect from the power source and perform routine cleaning and chain lubrication.

Recommendations

For safe and effective operation, wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as cut-resistant gloves, eye and ear protection, and sturdy footwear. Choose a stable working position, inspect the wood for foreign objects before cutting, and follow local safety regulations. Regularly check chain sharpness and tension, and perform scheduled maintenance to ensure consistent cutting performance.
