Brabantia StepUp 40L pedaalemmer Jade Green

Where most pedal bins force a trade-off between capacity and footprint, the Brabantia StepUp 40L proves you can have both. Its D-shaped body sits flush against the wall, reclaiming floor space while still holding a substantial 40 litres. The jade green powder-coated steel shell isn’t just about looks—it shrugs off fingerprints and daily knocks, and it’s made from 91% recycled post-consumer steel, so the bin itself is part of a circular story. A soft-close lid glides down silently, and the tight seal keeps odours locked inside. Step on the pedal, and the lid opens with a light, balanced motion; release it, and it closes without a slam. The removable inner bucket has a sturdy handle, making bag changes quick and clean. With a 10-year Brabantia guarantee and Cradle-to-Cradle Bronze certification, this isn’t a disposable household item—it’s a long-term fixture that quietly improves your daily routine.

In daily use

Place the StepUp against a wall, under a counter, or in a utility room—the flat back means no wasted gap. The pedal is smooth and responsive, so even with full hands you can open the lid without bending. When it’s time to empty, lift out the inner bucket by its handle, replace the liner, and slide it back in. The jade green finish resists smudges, and a quick wipe with a damp cloth keeps it looking new. Because the lid closes tightly, you won’t get unpleasant smells drifting into the room, even with food waste inside.
