CBO AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q5M 5 m 25 Gbit/s actieve optische kabel

The CBO AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q5M 5 m 25 Gbps active optical cable is a pre-terminated, fixed-link solution for short-reach 25 Gigabit Ethernet connections. This SFP28 Active Optical Cable integrates optical transceivers within the cable ends to provide a single, plug-and-play 25 Gbps connection over OM3/OM4-compatible multimode fibre paths, suited for server-to-switch and switch-to-switch links in data centres and high-density networking environments.

Advantages

This 5 m active optical cable eliminates the need for separate SFP28 transceivers, lowering component count and simplifying installation. The integrated design yields low power consumption and predictable signal performance over short distances, while the fixed connection reduces troubleshooting and inventory complexity. BlueOptics engineering supports compliance with SFP28 electrical and optical interfaces, enabling compatibility with a wide range of 25GbE-capable switches and network cards.

Suitable for

• Server to top-of-rack switch connections in data centres
• Switch-to-switch uplinks within racks or adjacent racks
• High-density networking panels and blade server interconnects
• Short-reach 25GbE links over OM3/OM4 multimode fibre

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 form factor, fixed AOC ends
• Data rate: 25 Gbps per cable link
• Length: 5 metres
• Medium: Multimode fibre (OM3/OM4-compatible)
• Power consumption: low-power AOC implementation suitable for dense deployments
• Compatibility: Designed for 25 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and SFP28 slots

How to use

Insert each SFP28 end of the BlueOptics AOC into the SFP28 ports of the devices to be connected, following standard hot-plug procedures for network equipment. No separate transceivers or patch cords are required; the cable provides both the optical link and the transceiver functionality. After insertion, verify link status LEDs on the connected devices and check interface configuration in the operating system or switch management interface to ensure the port is enabled and set to the required 25GbE speed and duplex settings.

Recommendations

Use this AOC for short intra-rack or inter-rack connections where OM3/OM4 multimode fibre performance is appropriate. Avoid excessive bending or tension near the cable ends and maintain recommended minimum bend radius to preserve optical performance. For longer runs or single-mode requirements, consider using separate transceivers with appropriate fibre types.
