D-SUB verlengkabel ShiverPeaks AK 2300 SC 9-polig stekker/bus 1,8 m

D‑SUB Extension Cable ShiverPeaks AK 2300 SC 9‑pin Male/Female 1.8 m is a serial extension lead designed to extend RS‑232 and other devices using a standard 9‑pin D‑SUB (DB9) interface. The cable features a male connector at one end and a female connector at the other, providing a simple wired extension between peripherals, modems, instruments or industrial equipment that rely on DB9 connections. With a length of 1.8 m, it enables flexible placement of devices while maintaining the original signal pinout and mechanical compatibility.

Advantages

The cable maintains the standard 9‑pin D‑SUB wiring, ensuring compatibility with existing RS‑232 serial devices and other equipment using DB9 interfaces. Its molded connector housings provide strain relief at the cable ends and help protect the contacts against mechanical stress. The male/female configuration allows straightforward in-line extension without the need for adapters or rewiring, making installation quick and predictable. The 1.8 m length balances reach and cable management for desktop, rack or bench setups.

Suitable for

• Extending RS‑232 serial connections between computers and peripherals
• Connecting modems, serial printers, barcode scanners and instrumentation
• Linking industrial control devices or PLCs that use DB9 serial ports
• Temporary or permanent cabling in test benches, service racks and workstations

Key specifications

• Connector configuration: 9‑pin D‑SUB (DB9) male to female
• Cable length: 1.8 m
• Wiring: standard 9‑pin serial pinout (RS‑232 compatible)
• Connector housing: molded with strain relief
• Shielding: overall braided or foil shield (provides basic EMI protection)
• Typical use environment: office, lab, workshop or industrial settings

How to use

Connect the male DB9 plug of the extension cable to the female serial port of the host device or peripheral, and then connect the female DB9 socket to the male connector of the target device. Ensure connectors are aligned and seated fully before securing any thumbscrews if present. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; secure with cable ties or clips as needed. Verify communication parameters (baud rate, parity, stop bits) and test the connection with appropriate software or diagnostic tools to confirm proper signal transmission.

Recommendations

For reliable serial communication, keep cable runs within practical lengths and avoid running the cable in parallel with high‑power mains or motor wiring. Use ferrite cores or additional shielding in electrically noisy environments. Inspect connectors occasionally for bent pins or corrosion and replace the cable if mechanical damage or intermittent connections occur.
