Dahua Technology 3MP outdoor vast-brandpunt Wi-Fi pan & tilt netwerkcamera

The DAHUA P3I-PV-0280B is a 3MP IP turret camera designed for indoor and outdoor surveillance. It combines a fixed 2.8 mm lens with a 1/3.2" CMOS sensor and provides pan & tilt capability with up to 180° rotation. The camera supports both wired Ethernet and Wi‑Fi connections, offers night-vision with dual light (infrared and white), two-way audio, and multiple mounting options for ceiling, wall or desk installation.

Advantages

This camera delivers 3MP resolution for clearer images than standard 2MP models and a wide 87° horizontal field of view from its 2.8 mm fixed lens. Dual light technology helps capture color footage at night while reducing light pollution, and the active defense features trigger sound and light alarms and send instant alerts to a mobile client. Built-in pan & tilt with 180° rotation increases the monitored area without changing lenses. Wired and wireless connectivity provide flexible installation options for indoor and outdoor placements.

Suitable for

• Perimeter and entrance monitoring of homes and small businesses
• General site surveillance where a compact turret camera is required
• Indoor areas needing two-way audio and remote alerts

When it may not be suitable

This fixed-focal camera does not provide optical zoom; it uses a 2.8 mm lens with a fixed field of view, so it may be unsuitable where variable focal length or detailed zoomed-in views are required. If extremely long-range night vision beyond the specified illumination is needed, consider specialized long-range models.

How to use

Install the camera on a ceiling, wall or flat surface using the appropriate mounting hardware. Connect to power and choose either Ethernet or Wi‑Fi for network access, then add the device in the Dahua mobile or desktop client to receive live view and push notifications. Use the client to pan and tilt within the supported rotation range, configure motion detection and active defense alerts, and enable two-way audio for real-time communication. Configure dual light and night settings to balance visibility and light usage based on the installation environment.

What to consider before purchase

• Fixed 2.8 mm lens — no optical zoom; verify the field of view fits your monitoring distance
• Intended placement — rated for indoor and outdoor use; ensure appropriate mounting location and power/network access
• Network choice — confirm Wi‑Fi coverage or Ethernet availability at installation site
• Night surveillance needs — dual light improves color at night but has finite effective range

Recommendations

For best results mount the camera at a height and angle that covers the intended area without obstructions, test Wi‑Fi strength before final installation, and calibrate motion detection sensitivity to reduce false alarms. Use the two-way audio when verifying events and enable mobile alerts to receive immediate intrusion notifications.
