Dahua Technology VDKP01-WG deurbel-set zwart, grijs, wit

The Video Doorbell Kit DAHUA VDKP01-WG is a wireless home doorbell system that records video at up to 2.56 MP (2560×1440) and 15 fps using a 1/3" image sensor and an ultra-wide fisheye lens. The kit includes a weatherproof (IP65) outdoor Wi‑Fi video doorbell supporting 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11b/g/n/ax), passive IR human motion detection, two‑way audio with G.711/PCM codecs, and local MicroSD storage up to 256 GB. The system is powered from multiple sources (100–240 V AC, DC, or USB) and integrates with Android and iOS mobile apps for remote live view, notifications, and audio communication.

Advantages

The DAHUA VDKP01-WG combines high resolution 2.56 MP video with an ultra‑wide fisheye lens to capture more scene detail and a wider field of view than standard fixed lenses. Built‑in microphone and speaker allow real‑time two‑way communication, while passive infrared human detection reduces false alerts. Weatherproof construction (IP65) and multi‑voltage power options provide flexible outdoor installation. Compatibility with Android/iOS apps and MicroSD local storage up to 256 GB offers convenient remote access and offline recording.

Suitable for

• Home entrance monitoring and visitor verification
• Small apartment or house installations requiring wireless connectivity
• Locations where wide field of view is needed to cover porches, steps or driveways

When it may not be suitable

The doorbell requires a stable 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network (Wi‑Fi 6 compatible) for reliable remote streaming; environments with poor wireless coverage may limit functionality. It records up to 15 fps at maximum resolution, which is adequate for visitor identification but not intended for high‑frame‑rate surveillance of fast motion.

Key specifications

• Maximum video resolution: 2560 × 1440 pixels at up to 15 fps
• Image sensor size: 1/3"
• Lens: ultra‑wide fisheye
• Motion detection: passive infrared human detection
• Audio: built‑in microphone and speaker; G.711 A/μ‑law and PCM codecs
• Connectivity: wireless Wi‑Fi 2.4 GHz (802.11b/g/n/ax)
• Storage: MicroSD card support up to 256 GB (local)
• Ingress protection: IP65 (weatherproof)
• Power: 100–240 V AC, DC, or USB power options

How to use

Install the outdoor doorbell at the desired entrance following the mounting instructions and ensure the unit is within range of a 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network. Insert a MicroSD card if local recording is required and connect power via AC, DC or USB according to the user manual. Download the DAHUA/DMSS mobile app on an Android or iOS device to add the device, configure detection zones and notification settings, select ringtone and volume for the optional Wireless Chime, and use live view and two‑way audio to verify and communicate with visitors remotely.

What to consider before purchase

• Availability and strength of a 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network at the installation site
• Whether MicroSD local storage (up to 256 GB) is needed for offline recording
• Mounting location exposure to weather and required IP65 protection
• Power option preferred (AC wiring, DC adapter, or USB supply)

Recommendations

Position the doorbell to maximize the fisheye coverage of the approach path and entrance area, test Wi‑Fi signal before final mounting, and enable human detection in the app to reduce false alerts. Use a quality MicroSD card rated for continuous video recording if local storage is required.
