How to use

Install the base station at a central location within the area to be covered, mount it according to site requirements, and connect it to the IP network using an Ethernet cable that provides PoE. Pair the unit with ALE DECT handsets and register it with the Alcatel‑Lucent communication server for full feature support. Verify DECT coverage across intended roaming zones and adjust placement or add additional base stations as needed to eliminate dead zones.

Recommendations

Position the 8378 to minimize physical obstructions between base stations and handsets; use multiple units for seamless roaming in larger facilities and ensure PoE switches meet the device power requirement of 6.49 W per port.
